Travel insurance protects your health and hard-earned money. You should know that your Government of Canada health insurance plan may not fully protect you if you experience a medical emergency outside of your home province.
In our age of uncertainty due to weather events and other scheduling snags, travel insurance with trip cancellation coverage can be important for recouping non-refundable expenses if your trip must be rescheduled.
What you may not know is whether single-trip or annual travel insurance is the most suitable for you and your family. Here is what we offer in our single-trip and annual plans, and things to consider while shopping for coverage.
If you travel two or more times a year, our multi-trip plan options may save you money by providing coverage for unlimited trips within a year from when you purchase.
Our Comprehensive Multi-trip Package offers emergency medical, trip cancellation and baggage protection on unlimited trips of up to 15 or 35 days, within a year of purchase. This plan is most ideal for frequent travellers who take extended trips.
If you are taking more than one short get-away in a year but want to opt out of trip cancellation coverage, Our Emergency Medical Multi-trip Plan may be for you. The plan offers emergency medical coverage for trips of up to 4, 8, 15, or 35 days.
We reimburse up to $10,000,000 in qualifying eligible costs for covered medical emergencies that occur during your trip. For annual plans, here are more details on all available plans.
If you plan to take only one big trip in a single year, such as a bucket list trip you’ve been planning for a year or more, a single-trip plan may be for you. It’s also a good idea to purchase travel insurance for shorter trips. Choose from plans with a combination of medical and trip cancellation benefits.
Our Comprehensive Package offers emergency medical, trip cancellation, and baggage loss and delay benefits for a single trip. Should you need to return to Canada under the Emergency Medical Transportation benefit, and you brought your pet along, we may provide up to $500 in reimbursement for the cost of returning your pet travelling with you, or the cost to board your pet while you are hospitalized due to a covered emergency.
We also offer plans with either emergency medical coverage only, or trip cancellation, delay and interruption benefits only. Our travel delay benefits may reimburse non-refundable expenses of up to $350 per day, up to a maximum of $1,500.
