When should you consider buying travel insurance?

Travel insurance is can be viewed as an essential purchase to protect your health, possessions and trip plans. An extreme weather event or medical emergency can easily derail your travel plans. But when may be the best time to purchase a policy?

Travel insurance may protect you in the case of reasonably unforeseen circumstances. Let’s say you booked a reservation for an incredible all-inclusive in San Juan, but a predicted hurricane has cancelled your plans.

If you purchased an Allianz Global Assistance travel insurance plan before the storm was forecasted, you may be eligible for coverage covered under our trip cancellation benefit. Make sure to check your policy for more information.

That’s why you may want to purchase travel insurance as soon as you book your trip to ensure that you have benefits under as many covered eligible circumstances as possible. Travel insurance doesn’t provide coverage for emergencies that occur during your trip, before your plan is active.

San Juan is everything you expected and more --- the beaches, food and nightlife are incredible. You work remotely and can be flexible with time off, so you decide to book another week at the all-inclusive. If you want to extend your trip, you can purchase additional coverage by contacting us at 1-844-310-1578 for the second half of your adventure.

Be sure to review our policies for complete details on eligible covered incidents, exemptions, and maximum reimbursements.

To be eligible for coverage, pre-existing conditions must be stable within a period specified by Allianz Global Assistance, depending on factors such as age or trip length. If you need to file a claim for an incident related to you pre-existing condition, your claim will not be covered.

Travellers 65 years and older must answer a short medical questionnaire by phone to qualify for our travel insurance. Please contact us at 1-844-310-1578 to receive a quote.
